Eastington Methodist Church

We have a Messy Church on the Wednesday morning during the February Half Term week. The theme is the early life of Joseph – this is the story of his dreams (that annoyed his brothers), the coat of many colours and him being sold as a slave into Egypt (see Genesis 37).
This is the same story that inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to write the popular musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat back in the 1970s.
There is plenty of material here for really good craft activities. As usual, there will be a group time together when we will look at the story and this will be followed by cakes and drinks. There is no charge; donations welcome.
We have a total of four Café Church sessions over February and March. These will follow the continuing theme of the life of Jesus. The first two cover Jesus – Power Over Death (Feb 10th & 17th) then Jesus – The Messiah (Mar 10th) and finally Jesus – His Glory Revealed (Mar 17th). These all start at 11am on these Sundays, are suitable for all ages and are followed by cake.
Older members of the community may be interested in Hymn & Prayer which takes place at the Broadfield common room on the fourth Wednesday each month at 2pm. There is a chance to sing some favourite hymns and pray together followed by some hot drinks and biscuits. The next two are on the 27th of both February and March.
The EMC AGM is on Tuesday 26th February at 2:45pm at the church to follow the Tuesday Lunchtime Bible Study. Anyone can attend and participate but should a vote be needed, only members can vote.
We are always keen to welcome new people so please feel tempted to come along to any of our events or to contact us if you want to find out more.
