Do you enjoy the canal ?

● Do you enjoy walking the canal towpath?

● Are you interested in how canal locks work?

● Would you like to do something for the community and the environment?

● Do you have 2 hours spare every 2 weeks (on a day and a time to suit you) ?

Perhaps you might consider becoming a volunteer on the canal as a Lengths person or Lock keeper with Stroud Valley Canal Company.
All we seek is enthusiasm as you would be fully kitted out and trained.
If you are interested, phone Les Richards on 07867 907080 for a chat.(SVCC Lengths persons and Lock keepers Coordinator)

The Stroud Valleys Canal Company is the registered charity set up to look after the western section of the Cotswold Canals. It controls most of the canal from a point about 1km east of Saul Junction through the Eastington/Stonehouse/Stroud areas up to and including Brimscombe Port.

There are many other ways to help maintain the canal, and to help with the restoration projects. Many different skills are needed in all areas, including labouring & landscape maintenance, bricklaying, structural construction, machinery maintenance & operation, project management, team leaders, planning, legal, health & safety, financial and professional engineering advice and general admin – and pretty much anything else. And you can meet new people and have a good time too!

Give the Cotswold Canal Trust Admin Team a call to find out more 01453 752 568.

New volunteers are always welcome

NB Lots more info on our website including a very nice guide to the canal that you can download.
