ECN advertisers battling on ….
Although the pandemic has caused huge disruptions, we are pleased to report that as far as we know, all our advertisers are now open for ‘business as usual’ – where ‘usual’ is the new ‘usual ‘ of course, with all Covid considerations in place.
Many, however, will be operating at a reduced level, so please try to support your local businesses wherever possible.
Please remember, too, that face coverings are now required in ALL shops, and that social distancing must still be observed as far as is possible.
Here is what some of our businesses have to say during these strange and difficult times:
What’s been happening at Severnside Osteopathy during Lockdown?
We have stayed open for advice and video consultations during Lockdown and now have a lovely new website!
At present I am still offering video consultation with advice and exercises for those patients who are still shielding or for whom attendance is not appropriate. My growing experience with this method of working indicates that it can be really useful. When I view the patient and the way they move, I can get a good idea of the nature of the problem and then give targeted advice about what to do toward getting better. I have also been giving exercise advice and in person guidance sessions. By using video or even just WhatsApp I can easily see if it’s being done well and give tips for doing it better.
The really good news is we are now delighted to be open for hands-on treatment but with extra precautions and restricted appointment times due to the special hygiene measures that are now in place to keep us all safe.
If you would like to read more about these safety measures, the details are on our new website www.severnsideosteopathy.uk – Just click on the red ‘Covid’ button for further information.
For consultations or for ongoing treatment appointments, please ring 01452 740818 or email ctosh1@talktalk.net Initial enquiry at no obligation Half hour video appointments £25.00
We look forward to welcoming you to Severnside Osteopathy once again.

Eastington Businesses fight the virus at Westend Office Suites
Although Westend Office Suites remained open throughout the lockdown there was a marked reduced level of activity with varying impact on individual local businesses located here. Some businesses were required to crease activity whilst others continued and were part of the covid solution.
Firmacore, a groundworks company directed operations from here to support the NHS in Oxfordshire and Flexicare used the site as a base to provide support to vulnerable members of the local community.
Building work at Westend Office suites, to complete the expansion of eight new suites, was interrupted by the lockdown and there were supply issues including obtaining doors, carpet and curtains which further slowed down completion.
In spite of the downbeat media commentary on the UK’s economic prospects, seven of the eight new suites have already been filled, five by existing customers looking to expand and two by new companies looking to reduce their commuting journey from home to work. We have also had another company relocate here as they value the self-contained office suites we offer – considering them to be more Covid secure than shared offices, as they are in control of their space entirely.
Grove lane is currently being disrupted by the installation of Fibre from Gigaclear , but this is a short term disruption and we look forward to upgrading more of our offices from highspeed broadband fibre from the cabinet (FTC) to fibre directly to each individual Suite (FTP) which can provide ultrafast broadband to match the best that is available in the country.
Eastington Farm Shop
Firstly, thank you very much for your support over the past few months. What a year to start a business!
Hopefully those who shopped with us enjoyed the seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables we had to offer, and will continue to do so.
We have a couple of exciting new additions to the shop over the next few weeks including an ice-cream scoop freezer stocking the wonderful Wholly Gelato. We also have some of our home bred, grass fed Angus beef available. Please keep an eye on our social media and the website for more information. How amazing is that, to have meat grown right on your door step!
We now have the shop open, with social distancing in place. Wednesday – Saturday 0900 – 1700, and Sunday 1000 – 1300. However, we are still taking orders and running a contactless collection service for those who would prefer to shop that way. The contact information is available on our website.
Once again thank you for all your support, it is a pleasure being part of a great community.
We hope to see you all in the near future, either for your foodie goodies, or a coffee, cake and ice-cream.
The Girls at Bond and Co have loved welcoming you all back to the salon.
We would like to thank you all for being so patient with our new rules and regulations but we think keeping everyone safe is more important than anything.
We would also like to thank all our regular clients for being so patient as we have tried to catch up with all the colours and cuts that were desperately overdue. I think we have done quite well after a month of working very long hours we feel we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, so any of you who have been waiting patiently please give us a call and we are doing our best to get you all in at times that suit.
We have changed our opening hours slightly as we have found our late evening are very popular more so than Saturday mornings so our hours are as follows : Monday – Thursday 9 – 7 and Friday 9 – 5
But we are always flexible it’s more often than not we are here at 8am till much later to accommodate you all.
Well what a strange time it is , I would like to say a huge Thank You to all the local people who have been supporting my little business. Weddings are not on the agenda in a normal way until probably next year , so business not as it should be – but here at Lynne Jessett Floristry I have tried to keep busy doing seasonal wraps and the contactless deliveries which I am continuing each week
I am currently working on a project with a few other suppliers to offer an intimate wedding package for those people who do not want to wait until next year based in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire .
Why not check out what I am up to in my posts on instagram and Facebook @Lynnejessettfloristry
Thank you again for supporting your local businesses as we move through this difficult time . This is still so important as things won’t be good financially for the wedding industry for a long time.
Most of all, stay safe and I wish you all well,
Lynne 01453 825136 / 07815 984857
