The children enjoyed participating in our nativity play ‘The Greatest Day’ for which we had been rehearsing many times beforehand and we managed to entertain everyone and enjoyed yet another amusing performance. The children have enjoyed talking about Christmas, what they did in the holidays and who they spent Christmas with. We linked this to recognising special times and events for family and friends.
This term we are concentrating on developing children’s knowledge of occupations and have Bristol Zoo coming to visit with some small and interesting animals.
Alongside this we have some lovely volunteers also coming in to look at a vet’s job and the police force.
We will be looking at the celebrations of Chinese New Year – year of the pig and the children will be tasting some Chinese food, making Chinese lanterns and learning the about the story of the Chinese New Year.
Looking forward to the spring weather we are already planning what seeds to plant in our allotment to develop our knowledge of growth and decay.
Hopefully we will be lucky this year with the weather to enjoy our little patch of outdoor space where the children can explore and observe their natural world.
Finally, we can’t forget Valentine’s day when the children will be making a keepsake and we will be talking about love and emotions.
Our playgroup offers care and education for all children from 2 ½ years to 4 years 11 months in a well established community based group.
We offer your children a safe and stimulating environment in which they can grow and blossom into self-confident, self-reliant and positive little people.
Our ultimate goal is to enable the children to have fun, explore and have the freedom to express their individuality, while forming the basis of their education.
