Dear All

We enjoyed two fabulous walks recently.

Our April walk took us to Minchinhampton where we enjoyed a hilly and blustery walk of around five miles. Following the path from the car park by the church in Minch we wound our way across the common and down through box and Amberley eventually coming out at The Weighbridge Inn on the Avening road. A rather soggy pint or two was enjoyed before our steep return journey homeward past a lovely lake and stables.

Our May walk started as usual at The Badger Inn following the path up behind and into Cress Green. We then came down a delightful meadow where we alighted onto one of Bill’s famous bridges where upon Mike the farmer kindly kept his bulls busy whilst we meandered by, heading towards the road. We were delighted to pass with ease through one of Bill’s famous kissing gates and followed the route as shown in the last ECN taking us back through farmer Cozens fields and finally resting at The Kings Head. It was a very hot and sultry day and we were gratified to see Liz’s welcoming smile when we arrived at the KH and promptly downed a cool pint of cider!

Look out for our next two walks:
The East circular walk map shown on Bill’s PROWD page: Sunday June 17th
1pm meeting at the Badger five miles 2.5 hours (shorter option available which Bill will lead all being well)
Arlingham fossil walk : Sunday July 22nd
1pm at The Badger or 1.30 at The Red Lion Arlingham; Details to follow, will be no longer than five miles.
